In fact, I decided to get into the Valentine spirit and recently gave my treats a heart shape. They are the sweetest addition to any dessert table. I can even imagine them wrapped in cellophane, tied with a pink ribbon and is the perfect romantic gesture. Just top it off with the sweetest V-Day card and you’re all set! 3 tbsp butter or margarine, divided

5 cups rice cereal, divided

Yields: Approx. 6 rice cereal treats – depending on the size of your silicone mold

Begin by spraying your silicone mold with cooking spray and set aside. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside as well.

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add 2 cups miniature marshmallows and allow to melt.

Once melted, add red gel food coloring and remove from heat. Mix until marshmallow mixture is well tinted and then add 3 cups rice cereal and fold.

Press the pink rice cereal treats into each heart-shaped section of your silicone mold.

In a smaller saucepan, melt remaining butter and add remaining marshmallows (you should have 1 cup left). Allow to melt and add violet food coloring and mix. Remove from heat.

Fold in remaining 2 cups rice cereal and flatten it onto your lined baking sheet.

Remove your heart-shaped pink cereal treats from its mold and using your smaller cookie cutter, cut out a small heart from the center of each one.

Using the same cookie cutter, cut out 6 small hearts from your purple rice cereal treats. (Save the scraps to snack on later!)
