-The Lima News. Monday, April 24, 1989 Deaths Merlin E. Stepleton FINDLAY Merlin E. Steplc ton, 69, of here and formerly of Cridersville, died at 8:13 p.m. Sunday at his home following an extended illness.
He was -born Nov. 9, 1919, in Shawnee Township, Allen County, the son of Vilas Elliott and Arlie May McPheron Stepleton. His mother, Arlie M. Stepleton, survives in Cridersville. On Aug.
30, 1940, he married Esther M. Gullett who survives. Mr. Stepleton was a retired automotive electrician for Automotive Electronics of Findlay. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Westview United 1 Methodist Church and the American Legion Post- 3 of Findlay.
He was a 1937 graduate of Cridersville High School. He was a former member and past president of Cridersville Village Council and served as assistant scout master in Cridersville. Survivors also include a son, Jon E. Stepleton of Colorado Springs, a daughter, Carol Stuckey of Sidney; two grandsons; and a sister, Gwendolyn Verbryke of Cridersville. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Two city park rangers discovered the teen-ager at early Saturday in Rose Hill Park after she had been raped by a man whom she had asked for help, said Lt. Sergio Robleto.
"The allegations that this young lady has made are probably some of more heinous allegations that I've heard in quite some time," said Robleto. The attack in the park followed a horrifying week that began April 16 while the girl was shopping at the Greyhound Bus Terminal during a stopover on a trip home from a friend's house in Corona, said Robleto. Corona is 45 miles east of Los Angeles and she was returning to her home in Thousand Oaks, 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. He was born June 10, 1937, in Leipsic, the son of David and Marjorie Conine Henry, who survive in Leipsic. On July 22, 1956, he married Sara Wilkinson who survives. Mr. Henry was head custodian for Leipsic High School. He was a member of Faith Assembly of Believers Church of Continental.
Survivors also include a son, Darren Henry, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Lori) Gratz of Leipsic, Mrs. Richard (Dawn), Mrs. Wenzinger Jeffrey of Continen(Brenda) Schroeder of Findlay; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m.

He was born June 11, 1903, in Hanco*ck County, the son of William and Emma Haddox Inbody. In March, 1926, he married Alverta Glore who died in February, 1989. Mr. Inbody had been superintendant.of Putnam County Home for 18 years. He also served as custodian for Gilboa Schools.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Inbody of Columbus Grove and Harold Inbody of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. James (LoAnn) Burman 'of Pandora; 11 grandthree brothers, children; 13 great grandchildren; Arlington, Lawrence of McComb, and Rex Inbody of Findlay; and five sisters, Velma Eicher of Lima, Mrs. G.E.
