Body Composition

We utilize the most advanced method providing comprehensive muscle and fat diagnosis that are essential in monitoring health (InBody 570). Patients receive a comprehensive, easy-to-read results sheet (similar to this example).

Metabolism Testing

We perform an in-office (respiratory) metabolismtest that measures resting metabolic rate and calculates individual nutritional requirements (protein, carbohydrates, fat) based on a person’s metabolism.

Prescription Medications

In a medically supervised environment, prescription medications may be an option. The majority of FDA-approved weight loss medications are DEA regulated and can be safe, effective tools when used appropriately. Besides phentermine (brand Adipex) and other stimulant appetite suppressants (Bontril/phendimetrazine, benzphetamine, and diethylpropion), there are newer oral medications (Qsymia, Contrave, and Saxenda) that have been FDA-approved for weight loss within the last 10 years. In June 2021, Wegovy is the first weekly injection FDA-approved for weight loss. Since May 2022, Mounjaro has been FDA-approved for diabetes and is currently under trials to receive an indication for chronic weight management.

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin)

We support a modified HCGprotocol (500 to750 calories) with the option of adding a prescription appetite suppressant. We have had excellent results with prescription HCG injections that is affordable. Any of our medical providers can discuss this with you if you are interested in HCGand rapid weight loss (maintainable if the HCGprotocol is followed) that is predominantly fat, not muscle.Beginning March 23, 2020, the FDA has banned HCG (now considered a biologic agent) from being compounded. The only form we prescribe is (subcutaneous) injection. Subcutaneous injection means the injection is given in the fatty tissue, just under the skin. We prescribe pharmaceutical HCG to a local pharmacy. A six week course of the HCG protocol using (self-administered) injections is approximately $175. We do not prescribe oral HCG.

Optimal Overall Health and Wellness

Specialized testing may be discussed with you depending on your previous weight loss attempts, medical history, and symptoms. These include but are not limited to: thyroid health (including T3/T4), hormone levels (estrogen, testosterone), and vitamin levels (Vit B12, Vit D). We aim for optimization of your overall health as an adjunct with weight management. In addition, we offer comprehensive wellness tests (iron, cortisol, sugar/HbA1c, insulin, liver enzymes, kidney function, auto-immune disorders, inflammatory markers, MTHFR, etc.) so you can be aware of any potential medical issues.

Male Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

Our providers have had many years of experience with testosterone management through our private practice. In addition, Dr. Garza has worked extensively as the DFW area medical director for a large testosterone management company. Our male hormone protocols may include testosterone (self or office injections or transdermal gel/cream;we do not offer pellets), HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin which stimulates testosterone production, prevents testicular atrophy, and maintains fertility), and an estrogen aromatase inhibitor. Regular blood work is required (we provide extremely reasonable out of pocket/self-pay lab prices performed in-office). We do not charge any monthly fees for testosterone management.

Optavia Meal Replacement Program

The OPTIFAST Program is a medically supervised weight management program that closely monitors and assesses progress towards better health and emotional well-being. The program, which usually lasts 26 weeks, utilizes a full meal replacement plan that transitions to self-prepared ‘everyday’ meals, in conjunction with comprehensive patient education and support.
