Rewinding No. 10 Oregon Ducks’ lopsided win vs. No. 19 Colorado Buffaloes (2024)

We were live from Autzen Stadium for Saturday’s game between No. 10 Oregon and No. 19 Colorado.

The Pac-12 showdown in Eugene turned out to be quite one-sided, as the Ducks routed the Buffaloes 42-6.

The Ducks (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12) now have won nine of 10 in the series since the Buffaloes (3-1, 0-1) joined the Pac-12.

Oregon was a 21-point favorite (odds by Caesars) for this matchup.

FINAL: OREGON 42, COLORADO 6

-- Colorado runs one more offensive play, and then the clock runs out. Game over, the Ducks win it 42-6.

-- Oregon starts at the 25-yard line after the Buffaloes’ TD. Thompson still at QB. The Ducks run down the clock under a minute, but they go three-and-out and punt it back to Colorado. It’s a fair catch at the CU 32-yard line.

-- Colorado puts together a nice drive, and Shedeur Sanders hits Michael Harrison for a short touchdown pass. The extra point is blocked. No shutout, but Oregon leads 42-6 with 2:51 to play.

-- Ty Thompson takes over. Oregon got to its 42 and punts inside the 10.

-- Jordan Burch and Casey Rogers combine on a sack, Oregon’s seventh. Its most since Sept. 30, 2017 agaisnt Cal. Colorado timeout (12:56). CU punts to

End 3rd QUARTER: OREGON 42, COLORADO 0

-- Colorado picks up a couple of first downs and the quarter ends.

-- Jordan Domineck with a flagrant facemask against Bo Nix. Oregon gets to the 5 but stalls and turns it over on downs.

-- Colorado allows another sack to Evan Williams on third down, Oregon’s sixth on the day. That’s the most under Dan Lanning and tied for most since 2019 Pac-12 Championship game.

-- Oregon quickly moves inside the Colorado 10 with runs from Noah Whittington and a Bo Nix pass to Traeshon Holden plus a DPI penalty. Jordan James scores on fourth and goal from the 1. Oregon 42, Colorado 0 - 9:00. Noah Whittington, who was in the injury tent, carted back to the locker room without his left shoe on.

-- Touchback. False start. Oregon has a sack but Mase Funa gets called for unnecessary roughness. Funa was late to the play but unless a whistle was blown it wasn’t dead. Illegal hands to the face on Colorado moves the ball back to CU 31 for third and 18. Punt, Tez Johnson shaken up after return to UO 23. Appears to be his right arm.

HALFTIME: OREGON 35, COLORADO 0

-- Colorado kneels

-- Four passes and Oregon is to the CU 11. Bo Nix 11-yard touchdown run. Oregon 35, Colorado 0 - 0:12

-- Colorado again gets close to midfield then Teitum Tuioti gets a sack on third down. Oregon timeout. CU punt to UO 30.

-- Jordan James with 3 runs for 41 yards plus a 5-yard catch to CU 36. Colorado timeout (2:59). Bo Nix 36-yard touchdown to Troy Franklin. Oregon 28, Colorado 0 - 2:52

-- Colorado moves to near midfield then Brandon Dorlus and Jamal Hill combine for a sack and Evan Williams gets a sack and Colorado is stuck having to punt again to UO 18.

-- Bo Nix intercepted by Jahquez Robinson, Oregon’s first turnover of the season.

-- Three-and-out thanks to Jordan Burch sack on second down and near interception on third down by Jamal Hill. Punt to UO 43.

-- Oregon’s drive goes backwards but Casey Rogers takes a direct snap for 18 yards on fourth and 12. Each team commits penalties, face mask on CU after a pass to Troy Franklin moves the ball across midfield. Bo Nix sacked by Jordan Domineck but Bucky Irving gains it back with 25-yard run. Nix connects with Troy Franklin for 15-yard touchdown and they connect for 2-point conversion. Oregon 21, Colorado 0 - 9:39

End 1st QUARTER: OREGON 13, COLORADO 0

-- Colorado converts on third and 5. Penalty on Teitum Tuioti for roughing the passer, hard for him to avoid under the circ*mstances. Deep throw nearly intercepted by Khyree Jackson. Colorado stalls and punts to UO 10.

-- Noah Whittington opens with 16-yard run. Bo Nix runs for 8 on third and 10 and Ducks convert on a broken tackle by Gary Bryant Jr. on a screen. Bucky Irving runs for 8, Bryant converts and Irving gets UO inside the 5. 12 plays for 53 yards and another score. Nix connects with Casey Kelly for 1-yard touchdown. Oregon 13, Colorado 0 - 2:41. Nix is 11 for 11 for 79 yards.

-- Colorado opens with a short pass for 3 yards, immediately stopped by Bryan Addison and Tysheem Johnson. Incomplete long throw out of bounds. Pass loses yards and CU punts, just 29 yards to UO 47.

-- Gary Bryant Jr. returns opening kickoff 23 yards to the 28. Bootleg into the boundary loses a yard. Bucky Irving runs for 16 and Bo Nix connects with Troy Franklin for 18, then 12. Oregon goes 72 yards on 10 plays with Noah Whittington punching it in from 3 yards out. Oregon 7, Colorado 0 - 10:15
