I saw a comment on the Made in Abyss wiki about The Abyss taking inspo from Dante’s Inferno(which it definitely does) and Reg being the minotour thats found at the 7th ring of hell which is also where he was found by Riko’s mother, the 7th layer of The Abyss. And his design definitely takes cues from the imagery of a minatour with his horned helmet and metal legs and feet that can be seen as hooves. So I thought I’d throw out a lil idea of my own to piggy back off of that.
Since the minotour in Dante’s Inferno guards the The Circle of Violence in the 7th ring, I think that Reg is for sure an artificial being created by the inhabitants of the 7th Layer or a deeper layer, as a guard. I also expect to see a city later in the series in the 7th layer. If not a city with people still living there, than ruins of a city with advanced tech that made it possible to create Reg.
Its late and I’m not an intellectual, but I just wanted to throw this out here since it sounded like a cool, plausible theory in my head.

Coming to accept just how boring and underwhelming life usually is for the average person is freeing. Your mind really starts to slow down and not worry about being‘left behind’ and if youre doing something wrong. But that doesnt mean you should ever be complicit and stop trying to do better. Its simply a way to keep your expectations realistic so you don’t drive yourself crazy.
I don’t f*cking get the hardcore anti-SJW crowds. Like they’ll complain about“wokeness” infecting media with meaningless representation and that if these groups of people want true representation then they need to make their own instead of begging for it from media that isn’t for them! Hmmm, ok, I can understand that point view and I even agree with it for the most part. But then when those groups actually DO go and make their own sh*t its a problem too! Then all of sudden its“its not about race/gender/sexuality”“why are only focusing on this group? You’re the one causing this divide by making something for you and people like you!” Just can’t win. But you f*cking bet I’m still gonna consume and support media made by people like me and for people like me. Not everything has to be for everyone right? Then stfu and stay in your lane then and let me have my fun.
I love looking at amateur artists work. Its so nice to just see people having fun with a creative medium to get an idea across without worrying about how it looks or getting clout. It was made for them and for people who resonate with it.
Ignoring the meme, it really upsets how seemingly underrated Inuyashiki is.
Ignore the“ONE PEE?!” scene for sec and actually go watch or read it dammit!
I’ve given up on trying to remove black from my wardrobe. It just goes with everything, and its part of my aesthetic! And since it goes with everything, I can still wear bright, pretty colors with it :)
