A subtle twist on a classic co*cktail, this elderflower margarita will definitely level up your Taco Tuesdays. This is a great co*cktail if you're unfamiliar with elderflower liqueur. The flavor enhances but doesn't overpower the lime.

Easy Elderflower Margarita Recipe (1)

Elderflower liqueur has a uniquely sweet and floral flavor, which pairs perfectly with bright and tart citrus, and the sweet flavors in tequila.

This drink is an easy spin on classic lime margaritas, adding only one ingredient to get an entirely different drink. It's a great addition to your next Taco Tuesday or Cinco de Mayo festivities.

Ingredients

Easy Elderflower Margarita Recipe (2)
  • Silver tequila - Use silver tequila (clear in color) instead of reposado tequila (gold in color). The silver tequila will allow the elderflower and fresh lime flavors to shine.
  • Elderflower liqueur - Choose your favorite for this recipe. I prefer St. Germain elderflower liqueur.
  • Fresh Limes - There are very few ingredients in this drink, so be sure to squeeze fresh limes for your co*cktails. You'll need approximately 2 limes per drink for this recipe.
  • Simple syrup - Make your own simple syrup in minutes at home with sugar and water. Visit my simple syrup recipe page for all the directions and tips.
  • Triple secor orange liqueur - Choose your favorite orange liqueur or triple sec for your margarita. If you don't have any on hand or want to use something besides liquor, try my orange syrup in this recipe instead.
  • Coarse salt (garnish) - A salted rim is a must for a margarita! A coarse salt rim will help enhance the flavor of the drink.

Love a Twist on the Classic Margarita?

I'm a huge fan of margaritas, in part because they're endlessly customizable. Change up the flavor of simple syrup or add fruit juice for easy twists on a classic margarita. The variation I make the most is my Triple Citrus Margaritas, made with fresh orange, grapefruit and lime. Or try these super refreshing watermelon margaritas, made with fresh watermelon juice.
